MADRID, March 19. /TASS/. Russian national Vadim Polyakov, detained in Spain last July, will be extradited to the US following its extradition request on charges of large scale cyber-theft, a senior diplomat from the Russian Embassy to Spain told TASS on Thursday.
Polyakov is accused in the US of breaking into accounts belonging to the online ticket resale service StubHub.
The head of the embassy’s consular department said Polyakov had received professional advice from a Russian-speaking lawyer, but extradition could not be avoided.
The exact date of the extradition is not yet clear.
The man was detained on July 3, 2014 while on a holiday outside Barcelona.
