LUHANSK, February 9. /TASS/. Nearly 100,000 residents of eight settlements in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic have been cut off water supplies due to armed actions, the LPR’s humanitarian service said on Monday.

Water lines and pump stations supplying water to the villages of Metallist, Shishkovo, Privetnoye and Liman were damaged when the shells exploded, the humanitarian service said.

Besides, the residents of the Lugansk republic’s towns of Zimogorye and Bryanka, and two districts of Luhansk have been partly cut off water supplies for more than three weeks.

People are currently being provided with drinking water, which is delivered free of charge by water carters of producers of filtered and artesian water. One person receives up to 10 liters per day.
