Over 14,000 households in LPR left without electricity after shelling by Ukrainian troops

The repair works still remain risky, acting director general of the Luhansk Energy Association says

LUHANSK, January 30. /TASS/. More than 14,000 households in the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) have been left without electricity after the shelling by the Ukrainian army, the city’s electricity utility said on Friday.

"The shelling damaged electricity transmission lines. Residents of the town of Zorinsk and the village of Veselaya Gora have been staying without electricity for 24 hours. If the situation is favourable, a team of electricians will start repair works. So far, such works seem to be too risky," Alexander Yemelyanenko, acting director general of the Luhansk Energy Association, said.

Apart from that, he said, electricity supplies had been partially cut to a number of Luhansk districts. Repair works will begin after the shelling is over.
