Ukraine military forces shell Donetsk from neutral zone killing 12 civilians — DPR

The shelling was conducted from a neutral zone north of the Donetsk airport

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. At least 12 civilians were killed in Friday’s shelling of the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk.

Ukrainian military forces shelled the city from a neutral zone, the Donetsk news agency reported on Friday with the reference to the defense ministry in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.

Two civilians were killed at a trolleybus stop in the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk and five were killed when humanitarian aid was being distributed; another five were killed in Azotny district of the city.

The defense agency noted that the shelling was conducted from the settlement of Opytnoye. "Opytnoye is a neutral zone [north of the Donetsk airport], Ukrainian military forces go there, open fire at the city and after that move back to their positions," the defense agency said.
