Ukrainian media reports about Russia closing consulate in Lviv ‘incorrect’ — source

"Information of the Ukrainian media does not reflect the actual situation," a well-informed diplomatic source told TASS

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Media reports in Ukraine that Russia is closing its consulate general in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv are incorrect, a well-informed diplomatic source told TASS.

"This is another hoax," the source said. "Information of the Ukrainian media does not reflect the actual situation."

Several Ukrainian media outlets reported earlier that Russia’s consulate general in Lviv would be closed soon, while the consul general, Oleg Astakhov, had allegedly left Ukrainian territory and had not appeared in the diplomatic mission for a long time.
