DPR receives official OSCE invitation to Minsk talks

Members of the Contact Group on Ukraine are making yet another attempt to ensure implementation of the Minsk agreements

MINSK, January 30. /TASS/. The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has received an official invitation from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to participate in the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine, which will take place in the Belarusian capital on Friday.

"I am leaving for Minsk," the DPR’s negotiator Denis Pushilin told TASS. "The DPR has received an official invitation from the OSCE to participate in the meeting," he said. He did not know who would represent Kiev.

On Thursday, a negotiator from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Vladislav Deinego, went to Minsk.

Members of the Contact Group on Ukraine are making yet another attempt to ensure implementation of the Minsk agreements. Representatives from Kiev, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics with the Russian and OSCE mediation are expected to agree on how and when to begin implementing the peace plan approved in September.

The ceasefire memorandum was signed by ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, DNR minister Alexander Zakharchenko, the LPR’s head Igor Plotnitsky, OSCE envoy to Ukraine Heidi Tagliavini and Russian Ambassador to Kiev Mikhail Zurabov.
