THE UNITED NATIONS, January 29. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan and six other countries are temporarily deprived of the voting right at the UN General Assembly due to debts to fund global organization’s activity, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric told TASS on Wednesday.

At the moment, seven member states cannot vote at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. These countries are Grenada, Kyrgyzstan, Marshall Islands, former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia, Tonga, Vanuatu and Yemen, he said. In his words, Rwanda, which paid fully its debt, was dropped from this list several days ago.

According to the UN Charter, a member state of the global organization is stripped of the voting right at the UN General Assembly, if its debt is equal or exceeds the sum of contribution fees the country should pay for two full previous years. According to UN reports, to regain its vote right, in particular, Kyrgyzstan should pay $6,731.
