ASTANA, January 26. /TASS/. Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry on Monday expressed concern over the escalation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine causing numerous civilian casualties.

“We strongly believe that there is no alternative to peace talks to resolve the crisis situation in Ukraine’s south-east,” the ministry said in a statement. “We urge all parties to settle the conflict exclusively by peaceful means,” it said, noting that all parties to the Ukrainian conflict should fulfil their commitments laid down in the Minsk peace agreement, reached in September.

Kazakhstan is also ready to provide a platform for negotiations on Ukrainian settlement in any format and at any time, the statement said.
