Ukraine’s president says he does not see alternative to Minsk agreements

“It is necessary to coordinate international forces for announcing DPR and LPR ‘terrorist organisations’,” he also said

KIEV, January 25. /TASS/. Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko told the country’s National Security Council he does not see an alternative to the Minsk agreements in the process of settling the situation in Donbass.

“It is necessary to coordinate international forces for announcing DPR and LPR (self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics) ‘terrorist organisations’,” he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk ordered the justice ministry to prepare “the legal base” for recognising at the international level the DPR and LNR as “terrorist organsiations.”

The emergency meeting of the National Security Council was organised following the events in Mariupol on January 23, where the city was shelled killing 30 civilians and leaving almost 100 injured.
