Russian journalists come under gunfire in war-torn Donetsk

TV reporters were on the way to an incident site, where Ukrainian law enforcers shelled Kievsky district of the city reporting casualties among civilians

DONETSK, January 20. /TASS/. A filming crew of Russian TV news channel Rossiya-24 came under mortar gunfire in war-torn east Ukrainian city of Donetsk on Tuesday. TV reporters were on the way to an incident site, where Ukrainian law enforcers shelled Kievsky district of the city reporting casualties among civilians, RT television reported.

At the moment of shelling journalists of other Russian and local media were also staying in the same district. No one was wounded in the shooting.

A Donetsk resident was killed in the shelling on Kievsky district and six others were wounded, chief of Donetsk authorities in two districts Ivan Prikhodko told the Donetsk news agency.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian military forces have shelled Tuesday a district where publishing house Sovetskaya Donechchina (Soviet Donetsk land) is located. The fire station building and an electric power substation of a local coalmine were damaged and a person was killed in the gunfire.
