MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Kiev and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics need to agree on establishing economic ties, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

“It is essential to agree on economic recovery of Donbas and returning to normal the activities in these territories [DPR, LPR] and establishing economic ties between the self-proclaimed republics and the rest of Ukraine,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov also called for creating conditions for a political process to be launched.

These issues are discussed between the participants of the Normandy Four talks between Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine, he said.

In particular, a whole range of these issues was discussed during a phone conversation between President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, he said.
