OSCE suggests establishing joint commission to investigate bus shelling in Donetsk Region

According to the deputy chief of the monitoring mission the passengers died of the impact of objects having high kinetic energy, but he was unable to identify the type of the weapon

DONETSK, January 14. /TASS/. The OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine has proposed establishing a joint group to investigate the tragedy near the locality of Volnovakha in the Donetsk Region, where a bus was shelled on Tuesday, deputy chief of the mission Alexander Hug told journalists.

Passengers of a bus that got under gunfire died of the impact of objects having high kinetic energy, Hug added.

He said he was unable to identify the type of the weapon for the time being and could only say the incapacitating fragments had different sizes.

OSCE suggests local truce at Donetsk airport

The OSCE has suggested establishing a local truce around the Donetsk airport and starting joint patrols of the territory, Alexander Hug went on to say.

Hug said that during a meeting with representatives of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) [of the ceasefire regime], the OSCE suggested establishing a localized regime of ceasefire in the Donetsk airport in order to later start jointly patrolling the territory.

He said the situation around the airport should be normalized to make life easier for local residents affected by hostilities.
