Search for missing Malaysian plane continues in Indian Ocean

SINGAPORE, January 11. /TASS/. The search for the missing Malaysian plane that disappeared over the Indian Ocean last March is continuing, the Malaysian transport minister said on Sunday.

Liow Tiong Lai said 26% of the area of 60,000 sq m was examined.

Australian specialists are participating in the search operation.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing disappeared from radar screens two hours after it flew out from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on the night to March 8 with 227 passengers and 12 crew on board.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said on March 24 that the Boeing disappeared in the Indian Ocean. Supposedly it crashed. However, no fragments of the plane have been found yet.
