Nearly 180,000 residents of Donetsk republic get Russian humanitarian aid

In total from August, 2014 to today to Donbass from Russia more than 14,5 thousand tons of humanitarian loads were delivered

DONETSK, January 10. /TASS/. Humanitarian aid delivered by the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s two latest convoys of trucks has been distributed to 178,000 people in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic /DPR/, the first deputy chief of the DPR Restoration Management Centre told reporters on Saturday.

“In the republic there are 210,000 socially unprotected people who urgently need the humanitarian aid,” Igor Bilodid said. “Thanks to the tenth and eleventh convoys from Russia, we have managed to distribute foodstuffs to 178,000 people in need. We hope Russia will continue its help.”

He also said words of gratitude to other friendly countries for their support.

“Along with Russia, we are grateful to Abkhazia that delivered 23 tons of tangerines before the New Year and every orphanage and residential care home in the republic had the fruit on the New Year festive table.”

Russia has delivered over 14,500 tons of humanitarian cargoes to war-torn Donbass since last August.

Russia’s last convoy of trucks carrying relief cargoes arrived in the republic on Thursday.
