Putin expresses deep condolences to France over attack in Paris

Two unidentified persons attacked the Charlie Hebdo editorial office in Paris, 12 people were killed during the terrorist act, according to preliminary reports

MOSCOW, January 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed deep condolences to his French counterpart Francois Hollande over the attack on the Charlie Hebdo editorial office which resulted in victims, the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday.

“The head of state strongly condemned this cynical crime and confirmed the readiness to continue active cooperation in fighting the threat of terrorism,” the Kremlin said.

Putin conveyed sympathies to the next-of-kin and wished the soonest recovery to the injured people.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS: “Due to the tragic events in Paris where many people were killed as a result of the terrorist act, President Putin expresses condolences to relatives and all residents of Paris and the French people.”

“Moscow strongly condemns terrorism in all its manifestations,” he said, adding “Moscow is sure that no terrorist acts can be justified.”

Two unidentified persons attacked the Charlie Hebdo editorial office in Paris. According to preliminary reports, 12 people were killed during the terrorist act.
