Luhansk authorities consider act of sabotage behind electric power cuts — acting mayor

"Electricity is cut off in two of four districts in the city now, temporary disruption of electric power supplies is observed in other districts of the city,” acting Luhansk Mayor Manolis Pilalov said

LUHANSK, December 31. /TASS/. A Ukrainian act of sabotage has probably caused electric power cuts in several districts of embattled east Ukrainian city of Luhansk just a few hours before the New Year, acting Luhansk Mayor Manolis Pilalov told TASS on Wednesday.

“According to preliminary information of Luhansk emergency services, electricity is cut off in two of four districts in the city now, temporary disruption of electric power supplies is observed in other districts of the city,” he said.

An emergency operations center to eliminate the consequences of unauthorized interference in Luhansk’s power grid has been established in the city, Alexander Drobot, in charge of reconstruction of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), said Wednesday.
