Russia to form 11th humanitarian convoy for Donbas early January

Since last August, Russia had dispatched ten truck convoys to the east of Ukraine that delivered more than 13,000 tons of humanitarian cargoes

NOGINSK, December 31. /TASS/. Russia will load the eleventh humanitarian aid convoy for Donbas in the first days of January, Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov told TASS on Wednesday.

“In the first days of January, we shall be through with forming another humanitarian convoy and provide assistance to Donbas in various ways, including support for the operation of social infrastructures,” Puchkov said.

“I would like to thank fire-fighting and rescue units and individuals for taking part in the humanitarian operation,” Puchkov said. He acknowledged that he was very moved to see the compassion of ordinary people who were bringing food and toys for Donbas children.

He recalled that since last August, Russia had dispatched ten truck convoys to the east of Ukraine that delivered more than 13,000 tons of humanitarian cargoes — foods, medicines, essentials and cargoes for the normal operation of life support and energy infrastructures.

At this point, Russia’s 76 regions run nearly 800 temporary accommodation centers for Ukrainian refugees. Many migrants are staying with the families of Emergencies Ministry personnel.
