BEIJING, December 3. /TASS/. China hopes to build mutually beneficial relations with Ukraine under the country’s new government, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Wednesday.

“We are ready to work continuously together with the Ukrainian government to strengthen mutually beneficial and result-oriented relationships in various spheres and promote their steady development,” she said, adding that: “The Chinese side has always regarded Ukraine as an important strategic partner and a good friend.”

On Tuesday, Ukraine’s parliament approved the formation of a new government led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, leader of political party People's Front.

Parliament members were voted into office in a popular election on October 26 and were immediately tasked with forming a new government. The appointments follow weeks of negotiations between parties in the country’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.
