The issue of the recognition of his republic’s sovereignty had also been in focus of talks between DPR head Alexander Zakharchanko and Prime Minister of Abkhazia Beslan Butba

DONETSK, November 27. /TASS/. The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) plans to send a delegation to Venezuela and Cuba to hold talks on its recognition by these states, DPR Foreign Minister Alexander Kofman told TASS on Thursday.

“It will not take place tomorrow, it will be some time in the future, but we do plan visits to Venezuela and Cuba for recognition talks,” he said.

Earlier on Thursday, Kofman told journalists that the issue of the recognition of his republic’s sovereignty had been in focus of talks between DPR head Alexander Zakharchanko and Prime Minister of Abkhazia Beslan Butba.

“The republic’s head Alexander Zakharchenko and the Abkhazian prime minister raised the issue of the recognition of our state by Sukhum. The issue is now been considered. Documents on recognition will be probably ready in two weeks,” he said.

A delegation from Abkhazia led by Prime Minister Beslan Butba arrived on a visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic on November 26. Butba held meetings with DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko and Foreign Minister Alexander Kofman.
