BISHKEK, March 18. /ITAR-TASS/. The Boeing 777-200 passenger plane of Malaysia Airlines that went missing on the night of March 8, had not crossed the airspace of Kyrgyzstan and its movement over the republic’s territory had not been recorded, spokesman for the Kyrgyz Ministry of Transport and Communications Kylych Dosumbetov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

According to him, Malaysian representatives on Monday through diplomatic channels turned to the Kyrgyz side with a request to provide help in the search for the plane. “According to the department of civil aviation and the state-run company Kirgizaeronavigatsiya, this airliner had not appeared over the territory of our country,” he said.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Monday requested President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev to provide assistance in the search for the missing Boeing 777-200 plane. According to Razak, “one of the possible routes of the plane’s flight” might be through Kyrgyzstan’s airspace.

The Boeing 777-200 was performing a flight on the route Kuala Lumpur - Beijing when it went missing. It carried 227 passengers and 12 crewmembers. Radio communication with the plane was interrupted when the aircraft was over the South China Sea.
