American general dismissed from service for drunkenness during job trip to Russia

He also showed rudeness towards representatives of the Russian side

WASHINGTON, December 20. /ITAR-TASS /. U.S. General Michael Carey, who commanded strategic missile units, was dismissed from service for ‘indecent’ behavior during a trip to Russia.

Dismissed for “gross and indecent” behavior

As reported on Thursday by USAF, he abused alcohol and showed rudeness to host representatives during joint exercises held on Russian territory in July 2013.

Chief Inspector of the U.S. Air Force also noted in his report that during a trip to Russia Carey associated too closely with a certain female foreigner, who by his own admission, “aroused suspicion” from a security standpoint.

Major-general Carey was dismissed from the armed forces of the United States by the Pentagon administration in October 2013 following an investigation initiated against him.

It was known before about his dismissal, but some details of the report of the Inspector General, who engaged in this case, were made public only recently.

What General Carey is famous for

Carey commanded the Air Force detachments armed with all the 450 U.S. land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles "Minuteman-3", capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
