Russian two-time Olympic champion in biathlon Olga Zaitseva quits sports

Zaitseva, who turned 36 in May 2014, won the Olympic gold two times - in Turin in 2006 and in Vancouver in 2010

MOSCOW. January 24. /TASS/. Russian two-times Olympic champion in biathlon Olga Zaitseva has decided to end her sports career, the Russia 2 television channel said on Saturday.

Zaitseva, who turned 36 in May 2014, won the Olympic gold two times - in Turin in 2006 and in Vancouver in 2010. Also, she won two Olympics silver medals in 2010 and 2014. She is three-time world champion (relay races in 2005 and 2009, and mass start in 2009). Apart from that, she has two silver medals (2005) and three bronze medals (2005, 2009) of world championships.

Zaitseva demonstrated her best result in 2005 in overall standing of the World Cup, when she took the fourth place and won the small cup in mass start. Also, she won 13 individual race stages of the World Cup.
