Russian snowboarder Sobolev wins gold at 2015 World Championships in Austria

Slovenia’s Zan Kosir and Austria’s Benjamin Karl follow with silver and bronze, respectively

VIENNA, January 23. /TASS/. Russian snowboarder Andrey Sobolev won gold on Friday in men’s parallel giant slalom at the 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships, held in Austria’s Kreischberg between January 15 and 25.

Slovenia’s Zan Kosir packed home silver after yielding the race to the Russian snowboarder, while Austria’s Benjamin Karl won the race for the bronze medal.

Sobolev, 25, is already packing this championship’s silver medal that he won on Thursday in men’s parallel slalom. He succumbed in the final race to Italy’s Roland Fischnaller.
