SOCHI, December 26. /TASS/. Black Olympic ski runs have opened at the ski resorts near Sochi for the first time as the new ski season kicked off near the Black Sea coast, an executive director of the Rosa Khutor ski resort said on Friday.

"Experienced skiers can take a ride down the black Olympic runs," Alexander Belokobylsky said adding that six ski runs stretching from 2,200 to 1,350 meters were available in Rosa Khutor.

Ski runs that are classified as black are steep and most dangerous.

Belokobylsky said that all ski runs had enough snow adding that snow-making machines would be switched on automatically when temperatures fell below zero.

He also said that all hotels near the Rosa Khutor resort had been booked out for the New Year holidays which last in Russia from January 1 to 11. The sale of the ski-passes can be restricted due to the New Year boom.

The new ski season in Sochi is expected to last as long as the 2013-2014 season, which ended in May.
