Russian figure skaters will 1st, 2nd places in Grand Prix competition in ladies

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took the first place, Yelena Radionova took the 2nd place

BARCELONA, Spain, December 13. /TASS/. Russian figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took the first place in ladies in the ISU Grand Prix series final that ended on Saturday in Barcelona, Spain. She received 203.58 points upon the results of the short programme and the free skate, thus breaking her previous personal record of 196.66 points.

After the end of the competition, she said she shown her best skate in the season.

“I’m surprised I skated so flawlessly for the first time this season,” the happy-looking Tuktamysheva said. “I’m really glad I managed to win this final - I began this competition after I had caught cold and skating here was a little bit difficult for me because my legs barely coped with their task and I did the final round literally on last leg.”

“Now my task is to recover before the start of the Russian national championship,” she said.

One more Russian athlete, Yelena Radionova took the 2nd place with 198.74 points. Ashley Wagner of the U.S. was third with 189.50 points.

The fourth and fifth positions were occupied by Anna Pogorilaya and the Sochi Olympics champion Yulia Lipnitskaya took the fourth and fifth positions with 180.29 points and 177.79 points respectively.
