UK prime minister "shocked and sickened" by Russian politician Boris Nemtsov’s murder

This despicable act must be fully, rapidly and transparently investigated, and those responsible brought to justice, David Cameron says

LONDON, February 28. /TASS/. UK Prime Minister David Cameron has condemned Russian politician Boris Nemtsov’s murder as "despicable" and "callous," the statement by UK Cabinet of Ministers said on Saturday.

"I am shocked and sickened by the callous murder of Boris Nemtsov," Cameron said.

"This despicable act must be fully, rapidly and transparently investigated, and those responsible brought to justice," the prime minister added.

Cameron expressed condolences to Nemtsov’s family and friends.

Boris Nemtsov's murder in downtown Moscow

Russian opposition and state figure Boris Nemtsov, was shot dead in downtown Moscow overnight to Saturday with four shots from a handgun from a passing car, law enforcement agencies said.

According to preliminary data, an unknown assailant made a few shots at Nemtsov when the latter was walking along the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the killing under articles 105 (murder) and 222 (illegal arms turnover) of the Russian Criminal Code.
