Food delivered by humanitarian convoy to Donetsk to be distributed between children, needy

The convoy consists of more than 170 trucks carrying over 1,500 tonnes of humanitarian cargos that include foodstuffs, medicines, essentials and construction materials

DONETSK, January 31. /TASS/. Donetsk’s 250 volunteer students help with unloading of trucks, which brought humanitarian aid from Russia.

Food products make the biggest part of the cargo. Deputy head of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s centre for reconstruction Igor Bilovid said the food products will be directed "exclusively to social canteens and to the needy."

"On Monday, the food products will be delivered to kindergartens, boarding schools and social canteens," he said.

Trucks of Russia’s 12th humanitarian convoy have delivered to war-torn Donbass over 1,500 tonnes of humanitarian cargo: foodstuffs, medicines, essentials and construction materials.

"There were no emergencies on the way to Donbass. The trucks are in order, the drivers feel well. As the trucks are unloaded, they will leave from Lugansk and Donetsk," the Russian emergency situations ministry said.

Since mid-August 2014, 11 Russian humanitarian aid convoys have delivered more than 14,800 tonnes of relief supplies, mainly foodstuffs, medicines, building materials and primary necessity items to people in the conflict-hit region.
