MOSCOW, January 30 /TASS/. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings into the shelling of a trolleybus stop and the House of Culture in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine in which at least ten civilians died, the committee’s spokesperson Vladimir Markin said on Friday.

The case was opened on charges of murder and use of forbidden means and methods of warfare, Markin went on to say.

Investigators are studying possible complicity of Ukraine’s army and the National Guard to those crimes as a priority version. But the final conclusions, Markin explained, would be drawn after all the circumstances and material evidence is studied and analyzed.

A trolleybus with passengers inside came under massive shelling at a public transport stop in Donetsk. Later on Friday, the Donetsk House of Culture was shelled at a time when relief aid was being distributed to the local population.

Markin said the Investigative Committee would soon add the new case to the principal criminal case on the use of forbidden means and methods of warfare in Donbas.
