VLADIVOSTOK, January 30. /TASS/. The entire southern coastline of Russian Primorsky Region should be turned into a free port zone, Vasily Usoltsev, First Deputy Governor of the region, said on Friday after a conference meeting in Vladivostok with Yuri Trutnev, Presidential Envoy to the Far East Federal District.

The agglomeration area of Vladivostok, Nakhodka and several other cities and areas of the region must be regarded as Vladivostok free port zone, according to Usoltsev. "In fact, this is the entire South of Primorsky Region. If the area is included in the free port zone, it will definitely be an explosive expansion. If we confine ourselves in geographic matters, in my view, we will have certain effect but it will be far from explosive or extensive," he added.

Several days earlier, Trutnev announced the plans on extending the free port zone up to the entire southern coastal area of the Primorsky Region.

Previously, Russian President Putin requested that Vladivostok be granted a free port zone status following one of the ideas of his Address to the Federal Assembly on December 4, 2014.
