Israel hopes Putin will be able to visit Israel in May — FM

Benjamin Netanyahu will only be able to visit Russia after early parliamentary elections on March 17

MOSCOW, January 24. /TASS/. Israel hopes that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be able to pay a visit in May, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told TASS in an exclusive interview.

“In May we are expecting President Vladimir Putin to visit Israel,” Lieberman said. “We do hope he will be able to arrive. At the beginning of May we will form a government.”

Lieberman recalled that on March 17 Israel is to hold early parliamentary elections.

“After that it will take us about six weeks to create a new coalition, a new government,” he said.

Asked if Israel’s prime minister might visit Moscow in the near future, Lieberman said: “I believe that Benjamin Netanyahu will certainly be able to visit Russia, but only after the elections.”.
