Russia has paid about 1 bln euro for Mistrals - Russian defence ministry

Yuri Borisov said Russia would accept any outcome

MOSCOW, January 24. /TASS/. Russia has paid a sum of about one billion euro under the Mistral purchase contract, Russian Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov said on Saturday.

“We want to have our money back, we have paid about one billion euro in advance,” he told the Russian News Service radio station.

He said Russia would accept any outcome. “If they hand over (the ships), we know how to use them. If they give back our money, we know how to use it too, but in either case it would have an adverse impact of the technical rearming of the Russian Navy,” Borisov said.
