NOVO-OGARYOVO, January 21. /TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has proposed a candidate for the position of CEO of a new corporation, into which the government hopes to merge the federal space agency Roscosmos and the United Rocket and Space Corporation (ORKK).

The candidate is Igor Komarov, the current head of the ORKK.

“There’s an idea to appoint the current Director-General of the United Rocket and Space Corporation, Mr. Komarov, to the post of chief of Roscosmos,” Medvedev said. “Simultaneously, Oleg Nikolayevich Ostapenko should be relieved of the duties.”

The latter man will be offered a new executive position in the industry. “Considering his experience, there is an opportunity to entrust him with a job in the space industry, for instance with the position of president in a holding company that will be incorporated with Roscosmos,” Medvedev said.
