MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. For the first time over the five years the number of Russian citizens who consider corruption rates high has decreased considerably, the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) said in a report, “Russia In New Reality: Image of Country and Reputation of Power”, presented to TASS on Friday.
According to latest data, 66% of respondents said corruption rates in Russia are high. From 2009 to 2013 this figure ranged from 86% to 75%
However, the number of respondents who consider the level corruption low has not practically changed and reached 2% In 2013. One fifth of respondents said corruption was at the middle level.
Over the past two years the number of those who think that corruption rates are declining has increased from 6 to 12%, while the number of people who think otherwise has dropped from 43 to 22%
The Public Opinion Foundation conducted the survey on December 27-28. It involves 1,500 people in 43 Russian regions.
