No requests from Ukraine to extradite Yanukovich, says Russian prosecutor general

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. Russia has not received requests to extradite former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich and other Ukrainian politicians, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika said in an interview with the Rossiiskaya Gazeta daily, to be issued on Monday.

“If we receive such requests, they will be considered in line with international agreements and Russia’s legislation,” he said.

Chaika said his agency “maintains necessary contacts with the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, notably we send requests concerning legal assistance of Russian investigative authorities and consider similar requests from Ukraine”.
