Ninth truck convoy with relief aid for Donbas formed - Russian Emergencies Ministry

More than 130 trucks will deliver more than 1,200 tonnes of relief cargo to Donbas

MOSCOW, December 11 /TASS/. The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has formed a ninth truck convoy to carry relief aid to Ukraine’s conflict-hit Donbas region, a Ministry source told TASS on Thursday.

“A truck convoy has been formed in the Rostov region,” the source said.

More than 130 trucks will deliver more than 1,200 tonnes of relief cargo to Donbas - predominantly food and equipment for socially important facilities.

“The departure time is being clarified. All the drivers have been trained how to drive in extreme conditions. All of them have vast experience in delivering relief cargoes to various parts of the world. All the trucks are in good order and are ready to go,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry has sent more than 10,700 tonnes of relief cargoes to the cities of Donetsk and Lugansk since August 11.

A tenth relief convoy is to be formed soon. According to Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister Vladimir Stepanov, it will be dispatched to Donbas after December 20 before the New Year. Apart from food and essentials, the relief cargo will also contain fir-trees, New Year gifts and toys for children.
