Police: about six militants trapped in Chechnya’s capital

The reports say traffic police stopped a suspicious car overnight to Thursday

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. At least six militants have been trapped in the House of the Press in the centre of Chechnya’s capital Grozny, the republican police’s press service told Tass on Thursday.

The reports say traffic police stopped a suspicious car overnight to Thursday but unidentified persons opened fire at the squad killing three officers on the spot. Escaping police, the alleged gunmen hid out in the House of the Press.

“The police say there are about five to six gunmen,” the press service said. “They are trapped and the House of the Press has been cordoned off for their detention or neutralisation.”.
