Kremlin official says attacks on Putin another stage of information war against Russia

An information war was unleashed along the lines of defamation and manipulation of facts, he said

SOCHI, October 23. /TASS/. Personal attacks on Russian President Vladimir Putin are a continuation of information war unleashed against Russia, Chief of the presidential administration Sergey Ivanov said on Thursday.

“First, they attempted to use the non-system opposition as a battering ram for decreasing authority of the power but failed,” Ivanov said on the sidelines of the Valdai International Discussion Club underway in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi. “Long before Ukraine’s crisis we clearly felt that our domestic and foreign polices did not satisfy those across the Pond’.”

An information war was unleashed along the lines of defamation and manipulation of facts, he said referring to a statement that “bullets breaching all types of bullet-proof vests were manufactured in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1974.”

“It sounds like a mental dysfunction that cannot be cured,” the chief of the Kremlin administration said.

Ivanov is confident that “when it became evident that the crew of Putin’s associates cannot be split or chiseled away, that the president’s popularity is on the rise, they have come to their imminent conclusion: ‘Unless Putin is toppled, nothing can be done with Russia,’” he said. “Thus they have launched immediate attacks on him, including personal ones.”

“Along with this, I would like to mention a vital detail: our president in his public speeches - and I believe you will agree with this fact - has never allowed himself to use abusive words about any head of state or government,” he said.
