Over 13,000 Ukrainian refugees arrive in Russia’s Rostov region over past 24 hours

A total of 1,674 people and 576 vehicles have been engaged to attend to the Ukrainian refugees

MOSCOW, June 15, /ITAR-TASS/. More than 13,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Russia’s southern Rostov region over the past 24 hours, Russian children’s rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov said in his Twitter microblog on Sunday.

“Over the past 24 hours, a total of 13,536 people have arrived in Russia’s Rostov region from Ukraine, while 4,124 people left Russia for Ukraine,” he wrote.

According to Astakhov, as many as 391 people, including 132 children and six persons with disabilities, have been provided with accommodations in the Rostov region. “In all, as many as 4,869 people, including 1,972 children and 34 disabled persons, have been accommodated in the Rostov region’s 45 municipalities,” he wrote.

He also noted that a total of 1,674 people and 576 vehicles have been engaged to attend to the Ukrainian refugees.

“A round-the-clock telephone service is in place in the Rostov region for people arriving from Ukraine,” he noted.
