MOSCOW, April 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Current situation in the global security arena is getting acuter, Alexander Bortnikov, the director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) believes.

“The acuteness of the current situation is growing,” he said Monday at a meeting of the FSB collegium, the highest consultative and decision-making body at a Russian governmental organization.

“In 2013, the FSB spearheaded its activity at the aborting of terrorist threats, espionage activity of foreign secret services, assurance of IT security, and impenetrability of state borders.

“The Federal Security Service conducted its actions in strict compliance with the Constitution, the strategy of national security, and instructions from the President,” he said.

The collegium held its meeting behind closed doors.
