President accepts Kurgan region governor's resignation

Vladimir Putin appointed Alexei Kokorin acting governor of the region

MOSCOW, February 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the early termination of powers of the Kurgan Region's Governor Oleg Bogomolov, the Kremlin press service reports.

The president has accepted Bogomolov's resignation and appointed Alexei Kokorin acting governor of the region.

Bogomolov had been governor since December 8, 1996. He was re-elected in December 2000 and December 2004. On December 29, 2009, after the president's nomination, he was confirmed by the regional Duma to remain at the post.

Kokorin before the appointment headed the administration of the city of Shadrinsk, the Kurgan Region.
