Space monitoring systems of emergency situations deployed in Sochi

MOSCOW, January 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Issues of security at the forthcoming Sochi Olympics are resolved at the highest level, monitoring systems of emergency situations, including those from the outer space, are deployed in the Winter Olympic capital, Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov said on Thursday.

“Russian controlling and emergency forces are put on combat duty in the city of Sochi. I ask to settle all the problems urgently,” he said at a telecom conference.

Puchkov noted that space monitoring and medical laboratory control systems are deployed in the city of Sochi. “Today it can be stated that all security issues for guests and participants of the Olympics are resolved at the highest international level,” the minister noted.

Forces of the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) that are engaged in the security measures at the Winter Olympics in Sochi have been put on combat duty since January 7, Puchkov said.
