Lithuanian citizen, accused in murder, extradited from Russia

MOSCOW, December 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Lithuania’s citizen Alexander Chikulayev, 29, found guilty of a murder by Lithuanian authorities, was extradited from Russia to Lithuania, press service of Russia’s Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“The convicted in 2007 attacked a man at a Vilnius restaurant. The criminal beat up the man and left the scene only as he was sure the man was unconscious. The visitor died of injuries. Lithuania opened a criminal case. The man was found guilty and condemned,” the press service said.

During the investigation, Chikulayev managed to escape, and he was put on the international wanted list. He was located and detained in June, 2013 in the Moscow region’s town of Mozhaisk.
