VLADIVOSTOK, December 12. /TASS/. The cat who sneaked into a fish shop window display at the airport in Vladivostok, Russia's Far East, and caused some 60,000 rubles ($1,100) in damages, has gone missing, an airport security official said on Friday.
The red cat was caught on CCTV toring through packaging and treating on smoked fish and squid on Thursday. The CCTV video of the intruder went viral and got more than 600,000 views on YouTube.
"The cat has disappeared. We saw it yesterday but today it's gone. We have no idea where the cat has come from and where it is now," the official said.
He said the cat could have been left at the airport by its owner who did not want to pay for the pet's ticket.
The airport's press service said earlier that the airport's safety rules allowed no cats to be kept there but the feline could have run away from one of the passengers.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Kuklachev, the artistic director of the Moscow Cat Theater, said he was ready to repay the $1,100 damages to the shop and take the cat to the theater if it's found.
He said that cat could be trained to do stunts like stealing sausage from a clown. "Sausage can be replaced with fish and the cat would do his job very well," Kuklachev said.
Kuklachev and his father Yury, a legendary animal trainer and clown, founded the Moscow Cat Theater in 1990.
