Germany joins countries supporting US position on Syria - Germany’s foreign minister

The US and other ten countries adopted a statement, where they supported the response to the major violation of the world’s norms regarding chemical weapons

BERLIN, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - Germany’s backdating decision is to join the countries, which supported during the G20 summit in St. Petersburg the US position on Syria, Germany’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said during a meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Vilnius on Saturday.

Following the G20 summit, the US and other ten countries adopted a statement, where they supported the response to the major violation of the world’s norms regarding chemical weapons. The countries, which supported the US, were: Australia, the UK, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France and Japan.
