TEHERAN, August 8 (Itar-Tass) - Iran’s newly elected President, Hassan Rowhani has called for annihilating the State of Israel.

As he addressed a mass rally in Teheran that was devoted to the Palestine Day, which is observed in many Moslem countries, he described the Jewish state as a “purulent tumor in the body of the Islamic world that must be removed.”

Rowhani officially takes up the duties of the president Saturday, August 3 after Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei endorses the results of election.

Sunday, a gala ceremony of inauguration will be held. For the first time since the Islamic revolution of 1979, foreign guests have been invited to attend it.

Rowhani’s speech at the Friday rally indicates in a most unambiguous way that his policy towards Israel will not differ in any way from the policies conducted by his predecessors.
