RF to vote against resolution on Syria if it ignores Geneva agreements

MOSCOW, July 16 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow will vote against the U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria if it is not be guided by the Geneva agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Lavrov said, “We will vote against the U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria if it is not based on the Geneva agreements.”

“We held in Geneva haft the day and haft the night not to put all ‘down the drain’ and to return to an idea that Western countries brought to Geneva,” the Russian minister said.
