Russia’s gas extraction totaled 641 billion cubic meters in 2014

MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. Russia’s gas exports declined by 6.7% in 2014 to 183.3 billion cubic meters, the Energy Ministry said on Thursday.

This volume comprises Russia’s gas exports both to CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and non-CIS countries, the ministry said.

Russia’s gas extraction totaled 641 billion cubic meters in 2014.

According to the data of the Russian fuel and energy sector’s information center, Russia produced 668 billion cubic meters in 2013. Therefore, the country’s gas extraction declined by 4% in 2014 from the previous year.

The Russian gas export figure for 2014 is a preliminary estimate, which may be specified, the Energy Ministry said.
