Belarus to fix prices of food exported to Russia in dollars

Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy said the Russian side has agreed with it, assuming that it would be more convenient for work

MINSK, December 21. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia have agreed a possibility to fix the prices of food goods exported to Russia in dollars, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy told reporters on Saturday.

“We have come to an agreement that the prices of the goods we are planning to export to Russia will be fixed in dollars pre-paid at the exchange rates of the Central bank of the Russian Federation,” Rusy said following his talks in Moscow.

He said “the Russian side has agreed with it, assuming that it would be more convenient for work.”

“There will be no need to overhaul the contracts and to cast doubts upon each other,” deputy prime minister said.

Rusy informed the sides coordinated food balances for the year 2015, which are planned to be approved at a joint panel of the two countries’ agricultural ministries.

“Food supplies are increased against the current year,” he said.

In 2015, Belarus plans to export to Russia 72,000 tons of butter (against 70,000 in 2014), cheese and cottage cheese - 176,000 tons (135,000 tons), whole milk products - 430,000 tons (355,000 tons), whole milk powder - 36,000 tons (32,000 tons).

Along with this, exports of meet and meet products will include 132,000 tons of beef (125,000 tons in 2014), pork - 30,000 tons (20,000 tons) and poultry - 100,000 tons (55,000 tons).
