Work permits for migrants brought $60m to Moscow budget

MOSCOW, January 22 (Itar-Tass) - Issuing work permits to migrants in Moscow yielded more than 2 billion roubles (about $60 million) for the city budget, head of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, said Wednesday.

One of the most important issues was holding foreign citizens and apatrides liable for administrative expulsion or deportation in special institutions, Romodanovsky added. The Moscow branch of the Migration Service should continue organizing and ensuring their operation in compliance with the adopted standards, he said, adding the Migration Service hoped for the city administration’s assistance for prompt resolution of this issue.
