Leader of Orekhovskaya gang sentenced to life in jail

The court ordered to collect 2 million rubles from Butorin in compensation for moral damage done to the victims

MOSCOW, September 6 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow City Court has sentenced to life in jail the leader of the Orekhovskaya gang, Sergei Butorin.

The court found him guilty of gang leadership, 20 murders and nine attempted murders, among them the killing of No1 hitman Alexander Solonik and head of the Foundation for Social Assistance to Athletes Otari Kvantrishvili.

The court ordered to collect 2 million rubles from Butorin in compensation for moral damage done to the victims.
